The REVISTA Film Collection The REVISTA Film Collection contains short films by contemporary Hispanic filmmakers that are supported in the Cortometraje section of each lesson. These films offer entertaining and thought-provoking opportunities to build your listening comprehension skills and your cultural knowledge of the Spanish-speaking world. Film Synopses Lección 1: Viaje a Marte de Juan Pablo Zaramella (Argentina; 16 minutes) Viaje a Marte is an animated stop-motion (“claymation”) short film. It has won over forty awards in different festivals around the world. The short tells the story of Antonio, a young boy, who is fascinated with space travel. In view of the child’s passion, his grandfather decides to take him on a special excursion. Lección 2: Diez minutos de Alberto Ruiz Rojo (Spain; 15 minutes) Winner of over 85 awards around the world, including the GOYA, Diez minutos tells the story of Enrique, desperate to get a phone number for a call made from his cell phone. Nuria is a phone company customer service agent who never breaks the rules. Will Enrique be able to persuade her to help him? NEW Lección 3: Body Ads de Bernardo Artica (Argentina; 7 minutes) Body Ads is a sci-fi comedy about a future that is already possible. In this new reality, everything is for sale. Humans follow the rules of supply and demand and forget their desires and wishes. Lección 4: Forastero de Iván D. Gaona (Colombia; 21 minutes) Leonidas Pinzón used to have a restaurant but now spends his time playing billiards. One day he is asked by the police department to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a stranger. Soon, several murders in the neighboring towns warn Leonidas about his visitor. NEW Lección 5: Mordisquitos de Ignacio F. Rodó (Spain; 15 minutes) Nico and Julia are thinking about moving in together. But there is a problem: he has a cat named Mordisquitos, and she is allergic.
