Mettre la table ou sortir la poubelle? • Say vocabulary words and tell students to write or say the opposite terms. Examples: sale (propre), débarrasser la table (mettre la table), and salir les vêtements (faire la lessive). • Point out the expressions that use faire: faire la lessive, faire la poussière, faire le ménage, faire le lit, and faire la vaisselle. • Tell students that the names of several appliances are compounds of verbs and nouns. Examples: grille-pain, lavevaisselle, and sèche-linge. Other appliances use the preposition à: un four à micro-ondes. Memory Write vocabulary words for appliances on index cards. On another set of cards, draw or paste pictures to match each term. Tape them face down on the board in random order. Divide the class into two teams. Then play a memory game in which students match words with pictures. When a player has a match, that player’s team collects those cards.
