K-12 Catalog 2022 – 2023

14 FEDERAL EDUCATION RELIEF & STIMULUS FUNDING The past two years have been difficult for American families and the nation’s schoolchildren. The good news is that schools have reopened, and the federal and state governments are making an unprecedented amount of funds available to support teaching and learning. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress passed six measures in 2020 and 2021 designed to provide relief and economic stimulus funds to states and local communities. Three of the six measures, including the CARES Act and the American Rescue Plan Act, have significant K–12 funding for states and school districts. The monies—which total more than $200 billion— are designed to support school re-openings, provide public health services for the nation’s schools, and address learning recovery. Tune in to Vista's Funding Matters podcast series to learn how funding increases at the federal and state levels can help support your district’s language-learning and literacy programs at this pivotal time in the evolution of K–12 education. Hosted by education policy expert Jay Diskey, this four-part series is designed to inform and support the language-learning community. Join Jay as he speaks with industry leaders about federal support and enrichment grants for education initiatives, including migrant education, English language acquisition, and learning recovery.
