The episodes present the adventures of a group of friends in Madrid, Spain. Manuel, Juanjo, Valentina, and Olga Lucía are college students who live in the same apartment building. Manuel's cousin Sara also lives there with her father, don Paco, the landlord. Her friend Daniel completes the group. Manuel, Valentina, Sara, don Paco, and Daniel are all from Spain. Juanjo hails from the Dominican Republic. Olga Lucía is a native of Venezuela. Their adventures take them through some of the greatest natural and cultural treasures of the Spanish-speaking world, as well as the highs and lows of everyday life. The Escenas section in each textbook lesson is actually an abbreviated version of the dramatic episode featured in the video. Therefore, each Escenas section can be done before you see the corresponding video episode, after it, or as a section that stands alone. In each dramatic segment, the characters interact using the vocabulary and grammar you are studying. As the storyline unfolds, the episodes combine new vocabulary and grammar with previously taught language. The Resumen segment serves to recap the plot as well as to emphasize the grammar and vocabulary you are studying.
