Fully integrated with your text, the Imagina Film Collection features dramatic short films by Hispanic filmmakers. These films are the basis for the pre- and post-viewing activities in the Cortometraje section of each lesson. The films are a central feature of the lesson, providing opportunities to review and recycle vocabulary from Para empezar , and previewing and contextualizing the grammar from Estructuras . These films offer entertaining and thought-provoking opportunities to build listening comprehension skills and cultural knowledge of Spanish speakers and the Spanish-speaking world. Besides providing entertainment, the films serve as a useful learning tool. As students watch the films, they will observe characters interacting in various situations, using real-world language that reflects the lesson themes as well as the vocabulary and grammar they are studying.
