Culture Note Baseball is a popular sport in Puerto Rico, home of the Winter League. Roberto Clemente, who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was the first Latino to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He is venerated all over the island with buildings and monuments. Other Major League Baseball players of Puerto Rican origin: Carlos Beltrán, Iván Rodríguez, Jorge Posada, Carlos Delgado, and Yadier Molina.
